RUC/RR/HRRR status email lists

To parties with interests in backup Rapid Update Cycle (RUC), Rapid Refresh (RR) and High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) model guidance: We now have emailing lists for status messages pertaining to NOAA/ESRL/GSD production of backup RUC, RR and HRRR model guidance. These email lists will be used to notify end users of pending changes, outages or other information related to the production and/or dissemination of backup RUC, RR and HRRR model guidance from GSD. There are three status email lists, one for the RR, the HRRR and the backup RUC respectively. Please note that backup RUC production directly impacts HRRR production through initial and boundary conditions under the current model configuration, so outages of the backup RUC can and will preclude HRRR production for the impacted cycle(s). Information pertaining to the operational and developmental RUC are not disseminated over these new email lists. Likewise, this forum/discussion board will not receive messages disseminated over the new email lists. We would prefer that the use of these new email lists remain primarily "one-way" from GSD to end users, so as to avoid higher-frequency communication including specific questions about the guidance which should be directed to individual GSD member(s). If you are or know of recipients who would like to be added to the status message list(s), please send an email address to Curtis.Alexander@noaa.gov along with an indication of which emailing lists (RUC/RR/HRRR) you/they would like to be included on. Thank you for your time and we hope future use of these email lists will provide users with timely information pertaining to production of GSD model guidance.
