Those little open circles in all HRRR and RAP graphics (not just for reflectivity) are for locations of leading airports, including the largest airport for each state. Their presence helps for application of HRRR/RAP graphics to terminal forecasts. Thanks for your question. Q: The HRRR reflectivity maps have locations indicated with small black open circles. They don't seem to correspond completely with nexrad/tdwr sites, radiosonde sites, or bravo/charlie airports. What are they?
