Ah okay, thanks for that info. Because NOMADS doesn't contain soil info, I'll be trying a different dataset for RAP. I just found out from a colleague that NCAR archives historical RAP data, both a pressure-level dataset and a native-level dataset. It would be nice if NOMADS had some sort of text indicating what is actually contained in the RAP files they host. That would've saved me some time!
