Hi Dan,

Bill posted a lot of great information, but just for clarification, the temperature and
dewpoint lines overlapping do not necessarily indicate cloudiness, as our colleague
Stan Benjamin states:

As it turns out, there will not necessarily be any cloud water or ice
even if T=Td. The sounding plot would have to include cloud water
mixing ratio and cloud ice mixing ratio to be able to know for sure
to see if those values were >0.

Also, as indicated in the article The Front which is a link in Bill's reply, the temperature
and dewpoint can be up to 3 degrees apart for visible clouds (and 3 to 5 degrees for
haze).
