Stan, In the diagnostics variable definitions (http://ruc.noaa.gov/rr/RAP_var_diagnosis.html#CAPE-def) it says... "The calculation of CAPE considers only positively-buoyant contributions of the ascending air parcel, starting at the parcel's Lifted Condensation Level and ending at the Equilibrium Level." Should this say, "starting at the parcel's Level of Free Convection and ending at the Equilibrium Level?"
