It looks from the image you have posted that the iCAPE value may be calculated from a cooler temperature than the surface parcels. There is a small tail in the very lowest levels of the environmental temperature between ~970 and 1000mb. The difference is only a degree or two so I'm not confident that it would make up the fairly significant difference between the traces but it is something to consider.
