Scott, the dev/dev2 soundings are *generally* available only back 24 hrs or so, because the normal RUC output files are so large we need to age them off the disk that quickly. However, we've started saving soundings at specific airports and RAOB sites, as follows At airports with METAR sites (see http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov/ruc_archive_airports.txt), we save the past 60 days' worth of analysis soundings. Also, at 0 UTC, we save 1h, 3h, 6h, and 9h forecast soundings. At RAOB sites (see http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov/ruc_archive_raobs.txt) we started, on 23 Feb, 2006, saving analyses, and 1h, 3h, 6h, and 9h forecasts at 0 and 12 UTC, for dev/dev2 and Bak20. We expect to keep these around "forever". You access these archival soundings in the normal way, with the exception that you have to ask for the specific airport name, or RAOB name of ID number (as shown in the files linked above); you can't request a specific lat,lon location. For instance, I was able to call up dev2 analyses for DEN on Feb 26th. (But let me know if I've failed to include your favorite airport in the airport list, and I'll add it.) Unfortunately, we have no (or very few) soundings for the period 19 to ~ 23 Feb, due to the power outage mentioned earlier in the forum. These archival soundings, and other changes to the soundings pages, are discussed in the change log at http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov/change_details.html, which is linked from the main soundings page at http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov/.
