Here are some details from Curtis Alexander: Experimental and Operational RAP and HRRR users, ** RAP version four (v4) and HRRR version three (v3) now operational effective starting with the 12 UTC 12 July 2018 cycle ** The RAPv4/HRRRv3 have completed their evaluation period and the operational implementation took place at NCEP this morning, effective starting with the 12 UTC 12 July 2018 cycle. The NCEP parallel grids and graphics have been discontinued and the operational grids and graphics now reflect the changes that were in the parallel grids and graphics. The service change notice (SCN) related to the underlying science and output changes in the now-operational RAPv4 and HRRRv3 are contained in the document at: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/os/notification/scn18-58rap_hrrr.htm We would like to thank all the users and collaborators that have helped in the RAP and HRRR development and implementation process. ESRL/GSD will continue to produce real-time experimental RAP and HRRR grids and web graphics as we continue the processes of model development for a future RAP and HRRR upgrade at NCEP. Additional updates will be provided when changes are made to the real-time experimental RAP and HRRR at ESRL.
