Ensemble mean wind forecasting

Hi I've been using HRRR to create wind forecast maps on my web site. I noticed there is quite a bit of variation between hourly runs. I am wondering if they would be more accurate if I averaged a few runs data. Is there a best practice for doing this, i.e. weighting more recent data?

Thanks
