There are now smaller-area graphics from HRRR (both experimental HRRRX and operational HRRR-NCEP) around 7 key city/metroplex areas. They are available from http://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/HRRR/Welcome.cgi -- go to the Domain submenu. Then choose one of these 7 subareas: NE CO (Denver), SEA (Seattle-Portland), SFO (San Francisco - central CA), MKX (Milwaukee-Chicago-Detroit), OKX (NYC-Boston-Philadelphia), IAD (Washington-Baltimore-Phila), MIA (Miami - s. Florida), ATL (Atlanta - Birmingham). Atlanta and Miami areas are brand new this week. The larger regional domains (NW, NC, NE, SW, SC, SE, GtLakes) are also available for HRRR graphics. Moreover, there are also east-west cross-sections for wind and hydrometeor condensate (cloud/rain/snow/graupel/ice combined) through these same cities. Thanks to Brian Jamison from ESRL/GSD.
