Hi Tom,

Thanks for your questions, and also to Geoff Manikin for some initial responses. Some other answers below:
1. Get hourly max wind gust? That would be really expensive since it would require running the wind gust subroutine every time step. But let us salt that idea away.
2. Is 10m wind gust always > 80m wind? No, not at all. Under stable conditions, when 80m wind may be strong, the 10m wind may be very light. I personally use 80m winds above all other wind fields for my own wind forecasting for hiking, biking, etc.
3. Snow water equivalent on oper-HRRR page? Geoff already answered that -- we don't have those grids available yet from the oper-HRRR but you can always look at the experimental HRRR.
