RAP implementation still on for 1 May at 12z

Hello, The RAP implementation is still scheduled for next Tuesday 1 May. A delay could happen if next Tuesday is declared by the National Weather Service on Monday as a Critical Weather Day -- this is unlikely but possible. NOTE: The implementation will occur at 12z that day. So the last RUC run will be initialized at 11z, and the 12z run will be with the Rapid Refresh. All of the RUC look-alike files will be produced by the Rapid Refresh from that point on. Another reminder: ftp users can access to RAP grids now from ftp://ftp.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/rap/para. At 12z on 1 May (barring a Critical Weather Day), ftp users should switch to ftp://ftp.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/rap/prod. Stan Benjamin
