Greetings RUC and MAPS users, on Monday morning, 16 Nov 2009, the domains http://ruc.fsl.noaa.gov/ and http://maps.fsl.noaa.gov/ will be turned off, and top-level web requests will be redirected to http://ruc.noaa.gov/. However, not all subsidiary pages will be redirected. So, for instance, if you have a bookmark to http://ruc.fsl.noaa.gov/pig.cgi?13km_oper , you will find that page missing after Monday morning. If you encounter this problem, please change your bookmarks. Wherever you have 'ruc.fsl.noaa' or 'maps.fsl.noaa' in a web address, replace either of them with 'ruc.noaa'. You can do this right now, because the ruc.noaa.gov address is fully functional, and points to the same place that the older web addresses point to. If we hear of specific subpages that many people are trying to access, we'll add specific redirect pages. But since we don't know which of our many pages folks may have bookmarked, we're not able to do that in advance. Hoping that this change will not be a major inconvenience for anyone, -Bill Moninger
