The changes were implemented as schedule today at 12z. I need to note that when the changes were made, NCEP Central Operations brought in a first guess to the operational system from the version of the model they had been testing. The result is that even though the new snow clearing code doesn't operate until 19z, you'll notice a change in model snow cover from 11z to 12z today, as the model was given a background field from the code which has been clearing snow points recently in the upper midwest, northeast, and Kansas among other regions. You'll likely see more impact in those locations this afternoon.
