Thanks for the explanation. So, if I'm reading this right, I'll see this kind of CAPE calculation when the atmosphere is saturated or nearly saturated over a fairly large layer of the lower atmosphere? In other words, had there been a dry layer between 2,000 and 9,000 feet, with everything else the same, the calculation of CAPE would have been significantly less?
