Near-adiabatic saturated layers

I've noticed from time to time, the RUC (Op20) analysis and forecast shows saturated layers that are nearly adiabatic. I'd expect this to match the moist adiabatic lapse rates, but not adiabatic lapse rates. What's going on here?

See http://chesavtraining.com/images/saturated-adiabatic-layers.gif for an example for a layer between 950 mb to 850 mb.
