Bill,

Thanks for clearing up something I have wondered about. Your paragraph about the algorithm "taking the sounding with the shortest forecast projection valid at the hour needed, regardless of when the model ran" explains why I see the temp and dew point curves (especially the dew point) jump back and forth or have erratic changes sometimes when progressing through the forecast.
