Scott, we have no plans to eliminate the interactive SkewT plots at http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov/ (note the new URL; the old one still works). Just as we've added other versions of the RUC model recently (for instance, the 'dev' and 'dev2'), we'll add other models/versions as they become available, and as resources permit. Regarding a powerpoint presentation on how to best use the interactive SkewT charts, this is being worked on by some NWS forecasters who have recently given presentations on the RUC soundings to a couple of balloonists' safety seminars. We hope to make their presentation available when its ready. In the meantime, you may wish to view the sounding tutorials made available by Unisys, at http://weather.unisys.com/upper_air/skew/details.html, and by Texas A&M at http://www.met.tamu.edu/class/ATMO151/tut/sound/soundmain.html. -Bill
