Jack,

If you look at the comparison between the 13km and 20km topography in slide 5 of the RUC13 powerpoint presentation (online in the RUC web site at http://ruc.fsl.noaa.gov), it looks different from your comparison. In slide 5, the RUC13 topo clearly has more detail than the RUC20 across the western US, including near the Sierras, as expected. Let us check further to try to resolve our discrepancy. Thanks for the post.
