Thanks for the info. I have found that a two month (April-May) average of the 2m temperature prediction at 21Z (approx. the time of max. sfc. temp.) for a grid point 50 miles NE of Dallas has a +6.5 degF bias compared to NWS observations at Greenville TX (10 miles away, which is also in rough agreement with temps reported at DFW airport). Since it is possible that this forecast would be affected by the switch I will continue to track the forecasts for another month to see if there is a significant change, also noting how the predictions vary with forecast time, and will report on this later.
