Alan and others,

When a temperature trace runs off the edge of the sounding display, you can use the 'zoom' option to shift the temperature axis. (This applies only to the java display.)

Here are the steps to follow:
1) position the mouse near the top of the plot (the upper right corner of the hodograph works well).
2) click and drag the mouse down and toward the right until you reach the lower border of the plot. (A red rectangle will appear as you drag indicating the zoomed region.)
3) release the mouse
The data will be replotted with the zoomed region centered on the plot..

You may want to vary the exact starting and ending positions of the zoom to put the data in the best position for viewing. If you're dissatisfied with the zoom, use the 'reset scale' button below the map, and try again.

By varying the region you drag across with the mouse, you can zoom into any portion of the sounding (such as near the surface).
