The Aviation Weather Center's home page http://aviationweather.gov is a good place to start for aviaiton weather information. It has a standard brief section for flight planning. Another good web page is the experimental http://adds.aviationweather.gov. The Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS) is an FAA supported web site that contains new experimental data sources as well as a number of interactive Java based display programs. You might want to check out the Flight Planning tools in the Java displays section of the ADDS. It allows one to enter a beginning and ending point for your flight and it will display a cross section of winds and weather along your flight path. |
