From reading the various articles on this website,
I have the impression that the soil moisture was
initialized in RUC on April 1996 then allow to
evolve freely in the model.

That means that the soil moisture in RUC today
originated from the April 1996 initialization
and was not re-initialized from outside analysis
since.

Is this correct?
