Gee, you hit a sensitive spot there. Your colleague Donna Tucker has also gently pointed out that the community needs some good journal articles on the RUC.
Some general articles are in draft form and will be submitted for the upcoming 20km RUC. There is some description of the RUC2 in Schwartz et al., June 2000 Weather and Forecasting. There are a number of recent conference articles listed under http://ruc.fsl.noaa.gov/RUC.pubs.html. That's everything right now. Thanks for the reminder that this situation needs to be improved.
