As many of you had noted, we have been having an anomalous
low pressure system off the Louisiana Gulf Coast on and off
for the past few weeks. It was tracked down today (by that
super sleuth Stan Benjamin, assisted by yours truly) to two
new RASS sites, probably on oil rigs, that had been added to
our external (non-NOAA) RASS data. The heights were put in
in feet instead of meters, and the surface pressure in mb
instead of pascals. These matters are being addressed by
our Demonstration Division (which puts out the netcdf files,
but is not resposible for the actual data), and when they
are resolved, the stations will be available again.

Waiting for the "real thing" in the Gulf...
