Message: Interactive skew-T's for RUC/MAPS/raob

Posted by Stan Benjamin on 1 Apr 99, 15:48 MT

Some of you may have used the interactive skew-t capability off the RUC/MAPS homepage, developed by Bill Moninger. Bill has now added the capability to plot soundings from the raw native levels from the RUC in addition to the previously available MAPS40 and raob data. This makes it quite easy to see to intercompare RUC, MAPS40, and raob soundings, and also profiler winds. We used this capability to nail down the problem described in the previous message. Of course, it's also useful to get detailed grid soundings, aside from the intercomparison use.

Thanks to Bill M.
