Message: Testing on Cray5 - no RUC2 today

Posted by Stan Benjamin on 4 Mar 98, 6:47 MT

All of the operational runs from Cray4 at NCEP are being moved over to Cray5 today as part of their monthly testing, according to Laurie Morone at NCEP. Thus, there will be no RUC-2 runs at NCEP until 12z tomorrow morning. This lower priority for RUC-2 and lower reliability will end next week with the official implementation.

For those of you who can use web graphics, the 40km MAPS (same code as RUC2) is running in realtime at FSL, and you can get at real-time products at http://maps.fsl.noaa.gov.
