1021 PM EST Thu Jan 4 2024 ...New UPDATE, MARINE, AVIATION, HYDROLOGY... .UPDATE... Issued at 1020 PM EST Thu Jan 4 2024 Cloud cover has largely dissipated across east central Florida, allowing temperatures to fall efficiently into the upper 40s to mid and upper 50s. Recent ACARS soundings near MCO show a very dry, stable atmosphere with northeasterly low-level flow up to around 800mb, before winds switch to the west rather uniformly. High clouds are following the westerly flow, moving east across the peninsula. No major changes were applied to the previous forecast in this update, other than to line up current analysis with temperature, wind, and sky trends. We are still on the way to morning lows in the 40s for much of the area, with locations east of Interstate 95 bottoming out in the low to mid 50s. It would not be a surprise to see some interior portions of Lake and Volusia counties fall into the low 40s for a brief time Friday morning. Despite this, light winds should keep wind chills right around or above 40 degrees. && .MARINE... Issued at 1020 PM EST Thu Jan 4 2024 Tonight...Boating conditions are forecast to gradually improve closer to daybreak Friday. Currently, Buoy 41009 is reporting 10-14 kt with seas around 5.0 to 5.5 ft. Small craft should continue to exercise caution into Friday morning in the offshore Gulf Stream waters. NE Winds around 10-15 kt will continue veering onshore, decreasing to around 10-13 kt around sunrise. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 1020 PM EST Thu Jan 4 2024 VFR are ongoing and forecast through the TAF. Light NNE winds veer onshore through 15z, increasing to around 10-13 kt during the day, with some gusts around 20 kt possible from MLB/VRB south along the Treasure Coast. Clouds increase ahead of another cold front after 00z Sat., which looks to bring SHRA and possibly a TS or two on Sat., well beyond the scope of this TAF period. && .HYDROLOGY... Issued at 1020 PM EST Thu Jan 4 2024 The St. Johns River at Astor remains in Action Stage. It is forecast to remain at or near Action Stage into the day on Friday. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
